In 2017 Corvay GmbH founded Blucon Biotech GmbH in Cologne, together with the partner company of Markus Fehr. This was the successful completion of the BluCon-F&E-Project at Direvo Industrial Biotechnology GmbH, Cologne, from 2011-2013.

The BluCon-Platform provides Know-How, thermophilic bacteria and methods for the production of ethanol from organic acids and lignocellulose, i.e. from agricultural waste. In the Autumn of 2017, investors from Hangzhou, Zheijiang province, bought the Direvo Platform and assigned BluCon Biotech GmbH with the commercialization of this technology.
